B&G Events & Catering – Assistant Pastry Chef

Established Corporate / Social Caterer in Brighton, MA seeks a motivated Assistant Pastry Chef to join the team. Responsibilities include scaling and executing a variety of products, from scratch cookie doughs to wedding cakes and miniature desserts, all in accordance with company standards. They are looking for someone with a bakery or pastry background, with culinary school or comparable work experience. Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift, lift 50 lbs, and have knowledge of food safety. Servsafe certification and some experience writing and costing menus are pluses.

The ideal candidate must be an enthusiastic team-player with an upbeat attitude and a sense of urgency. They work hard to foster a positive culture and are seeking to grow their team with like-minded individuals. Some early mornings, evenings and weekends are required depending on the week’s work flow, and hours may vary. This position will occasionally require working as part of their off-premise event staff. This is a rare opportunity to join and learn from a successful and talented culinary team.
