James Beard award winner Karen Akunowicz’s new South Boston restaurant Bar Volpe is searching for a Sous Chef to join their team.
Bar Volpe is a Southern Italian Restaurant and Pastifico focused on wood fired cuisine and fresh pasta production. With an in-house pasta shop, cafe, and expansive dining room, the guests will be transported to the seaside in Sicily. Chef’s Karen’s first restaurant, Fox & the Knife offers traditional Italian food with a modern sensibility, focusing on their handmade pastas, bright antipasti and their Aperitivi and Amaro programs. This vibrant Enoteca was named Best New Restaurant in America by Food + Wine Magazine, and was a James Beard Finalist for Best New restaurant in America.
The right candidate for this position is an industry professional with at least 2 years of experience as a sous chef in upscale casual or fine dining restaurants or a very experienced line cook, looking to take the next step. The Sous Chef will work directly with Chef Akunowicz and Chef de Cuisine Molly Dwyer.
Candidates must have a passion for cooking, an eye for detail and strong leadership qualities. Experience with fresh pasta and Italian cuisine is preferred. They are looking for an enthusiastic, systems oriented, hospitality pro who thrives in an open kitchen. High commitment to kindness, quality and guest experience are of utmost importance.
