Baleia – Line Cooks

Baleia, The Coda Group’s (SRV, The Salty Pig, Gufo) newest concept is hiring for LINE COOKS to join their opening team! Baleia (Whale in Portuguese) will feature a Portuguese inspired menu from food, to cocktails, and an all Portuguese wine list. Baleia aims to highlight all that this region has to offer and pay homage to Portugal’s delicious food and beverage culture.

Baleia is located on the ground floor of the Troy Building at the intersection of Southie and the South End. Baleia’s dining room will be bustling but intimate with just under 90 seats in the dining room and featuring a 14-seat bar. The Coda Group has always focused on creating concepts that match and satiate the neighborhood in which they are a part of. Baleia strives to do the same, bringing a unique menu and space to a unique part of the city.

Baleia’s team is composed of tenured Coda Group Staff members who are excited to teach and learn alongside our team. The primary prerequisites for any potential new staff members are being comfortable in a learning environment, enthusiasm for creating memorable guest experiences and most of all the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Line Cooks will report directly to the Sous Chef(s)/ Executive Chef.

Other requirements for this position include:

  • A heightened sense of urgency, organization, and resilience under pressure.
  • An ability to work with others, communicate, follow instructions, and read recipes.
  • An understanding of proper and safe food handling. Servsafe Food Handler Certification is highly recommended.
  • Full-time, Evening Shifts are currently available.
