Jamaica Plain restaurant group seeks experienced executive back of house staff. They have three busy, family run restaurants which span a variety of cuisines and service styles. Menus draw inspiration from all over the world and change regularly. The execution and direction of these menus are a must for all executive back of house staff.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to positively lead their team, oversee their training and culinary development, and ensure the proper execution of the menu up to the restaurant’s standard, even in their absence. They will be expected to maintain a clean and professional working environment and direct their team to do the same. The ideal candidate should find joy and inspiration in designing and executing anything from the dynamic globally inspired menu to preparing traditional menu staples. This candidate will work with the existing team to maintain a healthy cost ratio of food and labor. Experience in various cuisines and fine dining is a plus.
Job Responsibilities may include daily and seasonal menu design for brunch, dinner, private parties, and special events; daily and nightly ordering of food and other BOH specific supplies; FOH and BOH staff development on a rolling basis; overseeing and executing daily prep lists; maintaining proper menu cost for all listed menus; writing and delivering the weekly BOH schedule.
Ideal candidates will have at least one year of Sous Chef or Kitchen Management experience. Compensation and bonus structure is commensurate with experience level.
