Alden & Harlow is looking for a manager to help lead their growing restaurant group. Located in the iconic Casablanca restaurant space in Cambridge, Alden & Harlow pays homage to Chef Michael Scelfo’s roots by making each ingredient shine, and ultimately, cooking from the heart. In September 2016, Conde Nast Traveler named Alden & Harlow one of the “Best Restaurants in the World.” In 2016, the James Beard Foundation honored him as a semifinalist for Best Chef Northeast. In 2016, Boston magazine honored Alden & Harlow with Best Restaurant: General Excellence.
An ideal candidate will have a genuine love for food, beverage and their industry along with the ability to share that enthusiasm with those around them, guests and staff alike. Strong leadership, organization and communication are key components of the position along with an ability to multi task. The most important aspect of the job will be floor management of a 180 seat, bustling restaurant which requires a keen attention to detail and dining room flow. An ideal candidate lives for the rush of smoothly maintaining a busy and energetic dining room while making guests as happy as possible and going the extra mile. Their team is hardworking, mature and dedicated. While they take what they do seriously they are not pretentious and strive for a fun yet hardworking environment. Work hard and be nice has always been their motto and they would love to meet job candidates who relate to that philosophy. Experience is a plus but they are willing to train an experienced restaurant professional looking to take the next step into management.
