As Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli’s first solo restaurant venture, Alcove brings together his extensive knowledge of food, drink and hospitality collected from some of Boston’s most beloved establishments, including Island Creek Oyster Bar, Eastern Standard, Craigie on Main and the East Coast Grill.
Nestled beneath the Zakim Bridge on the recently revitalized Lovejoy Wharf, this bustling New England Farm Coast restaurant has opened its doors to the neighborhood for lunch and dinner service. With a focus on the best local food purveyors, with a highly curated wine list and dynamic cocktail program, Alcove provides a unique experience for any guest, from hockey fans before a night at the Garden to the daily diner from the rejuvenated West End community.
They are looking for a talented, career-minded individual who is passionate about continuing their culinary and managerial education in a high energy, fast paced kitchen. The position of Sous Chef provides the opportunity to work side-by-side with Executive Chef, Maxime Fanton, while helping to lead and inspire the kitchen team. Responsibilities include contributing to menu development, training and managing kitchen staff, overseeing and maintaining health and safety standards, assisting in the management of food and labor costs, ordering, tracking inventory and scheduling staff.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with work experience. Benefits include health insurance and bonus structure.
