Alcove is looking for Maître D’ to join its team. As Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli’s first solo restaurant venture, Alcove will look to bring together his extensive knowledge of food, drink and hospitality collected from some of Boston’s most beloved establishments, including Island Creek Oyster Bar, Eastern Standard, Craigie on Main and the East Coast Grill. Nestled beneath the Zakim Bridge on the recently revitalized Lovejoy Wharf, this much-anticipated, bustling New England Farm Coast restaurant has opened its doors to the neighborhood for lunch and dinner service. With a focus on the best local food purveyors, with a highly curated wine list and dynamic cocktail program, Alcove will provide a unique experience for any guest, from hockey fans before a night at the Garden to the daily diner from the rejuvenated West End community.
As Maître D’ you will be tasked with leading a team of hosts, responsible for their training and scheduling. Additional responsibilities include, managing reservations book, effectively communicating with the management team on a nightly basis, initiating and fostering relationships with our guests and responding to all guest requests. You must have a thorough understanding of all Alcove menus and be comfortable using a POS system.
Qualified candidates must be enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated to providing genuine hospitality, both in person and over the phone. Candidates must be organized and cool under pressure.
Prior restaurant experience is appreciated but not required.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with work experience. Benefits include health insurance and bonus structure.
