Alcove, a bustling neighborhood restaurant that highlights coastal New England cuisine is looking for Kitchen Managers to join their expanding team. Nestled next to the Zakim Bridge and steps away from the TD Garden and North Station, they are entering their third year as a destination in the West End, with a large four-season waterfront patio, an award-winning beverage program, and Boston’s 2020 “Rising Star Chef,” Brian Paszko.
The position of Sous Chef provides the opportunity to lead and inspire the kitchen team. They are looking for a talented, hard-working individual who is passionate about continuing their culinary and managerial education in a high-energy, fast paced kitchen. Responsibilities for the Sous Chef position include overseeing and maintaining health and safety standards, assisting in the management of food and labor costs, ordering, and tracking inventory.
The Executive Sous Chef position requires a minimum of 2 years of previous management experience in a high-volume scratch kitchen. The ideal candidate for this position is organized, conscientious, and a natural leader with a positive attitude. Responsibilities include managing operational functions (such as hoods, trash, and linen), controlling labor and food cost through strategic scheduling, pricing, and cost control, contributing to menu development, and hiring and training hourly kitchen staff.
Compensation: Salaries for both positions are commensurate with work experience. These are full-time positions, and benefits include health insurance and bonus structure after 90 days of employment.
