Alcove is seeking a Front of House Manager. As Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli’s first solo restaurant venture, Alcove will look to bring together his extensive knowledge of food, drink and hospitality collected from some of Boston’s most beloved establishments, including Island Creek Oyster Bar, Eastern Standard, Craigie on Main and the East Coast Grill. Nestled beneath the Zakim Bridge on the recently revitalized Lovejoy Wharf, this much-anticipated, bustling New England farm to table restaurant will open its doors to the neighborhood for lunch and dinner this coming fall. With a focus on the best local food purveyors, with a highly curated wine list and dynamic cocktail program, Alcove will provide a unique experience for any guest, from hockey fans before a night at the Garden to the daily diner from the rejuvenated West End community.
Qualified candidates should have a desire to captain a front of house team on a daily basis, have a strong sense of hospitality and a willingness to lead by example. Candidates must be positive, energetic and possess a sense of empathy. They must have the ability to both enhance the guest experience and recover from missteps.
The FOH Manager will have a heavy focus on service with an eye toward the technical aspects as well as connecting with guests throughout the dining room. In addition they will participate in the hiring, training and scheduling of FoH staff.
A minimum of 2 years restaurant experience is required for this position
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with work experience. Benefits include health insurance and bonus structure.
