80 Thoreau is looking for a talented and energetic chef de cuisine to join its team. The restaurant has received much critical acclaim over the years and has built a strong core of regulars by offering well executed local cuisine that naturally evolves with the seasons and takes advantage of the strong farming community in and around Concord. The 85-seat restaurant is open for dinner only Tuesday-Saturday and is closed for most major holidays. The restaurant’s reputation for offering a concise and thoughtful menu has made 80 Thoreau a standout in Concord and beyond.
This is a hands-on position for someone who will assist in leading the kitchen by example; working alongside the cooks to enhance their techniques and preparedness. This position is ideal for someone who is ready to balance autonomy in running the restaurant and collaborating with the executive chef, including menu development, hiring, training, sourcing, cost management and sanitation.
Salary will be appropriate for experience with performance bonuses available. Employer pays 50% of health insurance. Ample free parking or a commuter rail pass are offered.
