80 Thoreau is celebrating 10 years in business this April and looking for a talented and energetic chef to lead the kitchen. The restaurant has received much critical acclaim over the years and has built a strong core of regulars by offering well executed local cuisine that naturally evolves with the seasons. The 85-seat restaurant is open for dinner Monday-Saturday and is closed for most major holidays. The restaurant’s reputation for offering a concise and thoughtful menu has made 80 Thoreau a standout in Concord and beyond.
This is a hands-on position for someone who will lead the kitchen by example; working alongside the cooks to enhance their techniques and preparedness. The chef will create a menu that is seasonally driven and takes advantage of the strong farming community in and around Concord. This position is ideal for someone who is ready to manage all elements of the kitchen: menu development, hiring, training, sourcing, cost management and sanitation. A desire to engage with social media is a plus.
Salary will be appropriate for experience with performance bonuses for food/labor cost. Employer pays 50% of health insurance. Ample free parking.
