1928 Beacon Hill by Restaurateur Kristin Jenkins, debuted in November 2021 in Beacon Hill. The menu reflects elevated, seasonal, classic American fare with a substantial wine list and curated cocktails.

We strive to find an Assistant General Manager (AGM)/Bar Manager who can meet the standards of the restaurant and continue to grow with us.

Overview of the Position:
The Assistant General Manager position will be responsible for supporting the General Manager in managing the 1928 FOH team and overseeing the restaurants’ day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have a serious background in beverage. This is a role for candidates who are excited to continue to learn and grow professionally and who are eager to work with a wonderful team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the day-to-day management of a team of FOH members
  • Participate in restaurant opening and closing shifts as restaurant manager
  • Minimum 2 years expertise as a Bar Manager/Floor Manager
  • Passion and knowledge in all aspects of beverage including wine and spirits
  • Full availability (working weekends are a must). Expected to work 5 days a week
  • Experience in developing a well curated/creative rotating cocktail menu
  • Experience in facilitating staff education
  • Lead by example to guide and empower the FOH staff on the floor, maintaining a hands on presence throughout each service
  • Focus on ensuring proper steps of service are being followed across all FOH stations and staff: on the door, table side and support
  • Focus on cultivating meaningful relationships with guests through guest interaction with the goal of creating returning diners and regulars
  • Take part in staff scheduling and special projects as necessary
  • Must have full availability and be willing and available to work weekends.

This is a full time-position

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in restaurant management preferred
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary: $85,000 per year plus bonus structure

Weekly day range:

  • Open 7 days. Dinner 4:30-11:00pm Monday – Friday, Brunch Saturday & Sunday 10:30-3:00, Dinner 4:00 -11:00pm (generally days off Monday & Tuesday)

  • Upscale/Casual dining
  • Fine dining restaurant
  • Private Events when scheduled
