Once you’ve hung your stockings by the chimney with care, sit down to Christmas Eve dinner — some of the city’s top chefs have put together spectacular holiday menus (much more satisfying than visions of sugar plums dancing in your head) to for on-site diners or to have at-home.

Just scroll down to see which restaurants are open for Christmas Eve and where you can make a reservation for on-site dining. Or, if you’re looking to pre-order your Christmas Eve takeout in Boston and get Christmas Eve dinner to-go so you can have a perfectly catered holiday right from the comfort of your very own house.

They've put together a whole menu of oven-ready entrees, sides and baked goods (so many baked goods!) with which to start your day (cinnamon rolls, sticky buns and banana bread) or finish your meal (buche de noels, coconut cake, Boston cream pies).

Bring some of Chef Frank McClelland's family traditions home for the holidays and so you and yours can feast like award-winning chef. The customizable Farm Fresh Dinner package (for six people) includes craveable entrees (turkey, ham and standing rib roast) as well as starters, sides and sweets. You can add extra a la carte sides as well as brunch-y deliciousness like stratas, cinnamon rolls and coffee cake (so you won't have to wake up early to do breakfast prep).

You can eat all the fishes - calamari, octopus, clams, shrimp and more - in the welcoming dining room at Il Casale Lexington, where Dante de Magistris is prepping their classic Italian Feast of the Seven Fishes menu with century-old dishes passed down to Magistris from his grandmother.
