The fine folks at Forage have your bags packed for Portugal for the next weekly wine dinner on Tuesday, June 28th. Chef Eric Cooper and wine guru Stan Hilbert will be at their esoteric best as they take you through a tasting of wines made from some of the more than 250 indigenous varieties of grapes grown only in Portugal. The local produce coming into season now is a perfect match for the specially-selected hot-weather wines, which are all made by small producers doing things their own way. Choose an omnivore or vegetarian menu for $95 per person to dine in (includes wine), or $160 to take out (serves two people), and you can try Sugar Snap Peas with Smoked Pecans paired with Phaunus Vinho Verde, and Spigarello Pancake with Charred Summer Vegetables, Piri Piri Hot Sauce and Lemon Mayo paired with 2020 “Nerd Duck” Tinto, Joao Pato, Bairrada. Don’t skip adding an optional cheese course for $25 per person for the full experience. Sit indoors with the AC or out on the patio for the evening breeze — either way it’ll be the next best thing to a night on the beach in Algarve.
