The local Boston chapter of Wine Brats kicks off their spring season with the Viva la Vino fundraiser at the Boston Harbor Hotel. On Sunday, March 30th, budding oenophiles can sample more than 80 wines from vineyards all over the world like Rex Hill, Cooper Mountain, La Bete, Gallo of Sonoma, Kendall Jackson, Camelot, Edmeades, Cockatoo Ridge, Salena, Willespie, Ravenswood, Sensi, Kemblefield, Vina Cantagua, Villa Cornaro and Frederick Wildman just to name a few. Restaurants including The Fireplace, Meritage, The Living Room, Spire and Aquitaine, will be providing delicious fare to fuel the four-hour journey. A silent auction will offer guests an opportunity to bid on restaurant gift certificates, “autographed” wine bottles, winery apparel, sports memorabilia and a signed script from TV’s “The West Wing”. Tickets are $75 and are available in advance at the Wine Brats’ website www.winebrats.org. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Starlight Children’s Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for seriously ill children and their families.
