Wellfleet OysterFest is Back

You’ve trained all spring and summer with dollar oysters in the city, and now the world series of New England shellfish slurping is here — Wellfleet OysterFest is back on Saturday October 15th and Sunday the 16th. Head south to the Cape Cod homeland of the state’s most beloved oyster variety as Wellfleet transforms Baker’s Field Recreation Park into a street fair filled with local eats, an arts and crafts fair, live music, kids activities, and of course all the oysters you can handle at the raw bars featuring who’s who of local bivalve experts. Plus there’s some good post-Covid news: the Annual Shuck Off will be in person this year, so if you want to show off your skills be sure to get your application in ASAP.

The fest begins each day at 10:00am and runs until 5:00pm. Tickets are $20 each and kids under 12 can Fest for free; grab yours here — capacity is limited and tix will definitely sell out. Proceeds from ticket sales go toward Proceeds Wellfleet SPAT (Shellfish Promotion and Tasting, Inc.), which produces the event and supports the local shellfishing and aquaculture industries with scholarships, grants and initiatives. Parking, shuttles, music lineups and other logistics are all covered on the website, and please note that you must reserve your ticket (even the free kids tickets) through the eventbrite link (above) for a barcode to get through the gates. Follow the Fest via SPAT on Instagram or Facebook for updates, or sign up for the mailing list to stay in the loop.
