Welcome Summer with B&G’s Oyster Invitational

Chef owner Barbara Lynch welcomes the warm and lazy days of summer – and patio season at B & G Oysters – with an all day oyster invitational on Sunday, May 3rd. The shuckers from B&G will be joined by a bunch of bivalve lovers hailing from spots like Great Bay, Neptune Oyster, O Ya and Summer Shack. Contestants will compete in a series of challenges presided over by a panel of judges including oyster expert and author of The Geography of Oysters, Rowan Jacobsen. Guests will be treated to a selection of passed signature and competition dishes, beers from Harpoon, oyster-friendly wines and of course, unlimited oysters from Island Creek Oysters and Salt Pond Select. Tickets to the event, which runs from 12:00 to 8:00pm, cost $45 in advance ($55 at the door) which gets you in the door and also covers one raffle ticket, two drink tickets, and unlimited oysters, as well as other featured dishes. The fun continues across the street at Stir where oyster tutorials will be taught throughout the afternoon for $40 per person. Pick up tickets for the Invitational and a class and they’ll cost you $75 (a savings of $10). A portion of the proceeds from the event benefit the Massachusetts Oyster Project. Swing by B&G after April 13th to buy your tickets or call 617.423.0550.
