Observe Anzac Day in the most delicious way possible — with cookies from Vicki Lee’s. The Belmont bakery and cafe pays tribute to the annual day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand, which broadly commemorates the contributions and suffering of Aussies and Kiwis who served and died in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations (kind of like a cross between Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day). The sweet treats, which are rumored to have been the confection of choice for sending to soldiers (due to their long shelf-life) back in World War I, will be available at Vicki Lee’s individually or by the dozen on Thursday, April 25th. Swing by for your fill of the popular (and historic) buttery, oatmeal-based, coconut-y biscuits — it’s one of their most popular cookies! Call 617.489.5007 with any questions.
