On Saturday, January 23rd the Central Square spot is hosting a take-out version their annual lunch benefit for Food For Free Inc, a local non-profit that bridges “the gap between waste and want”.
Founded in 1981, Food for Free helps ensure that area food programs have year-round access to fresh fruits and vegetables, and brings food to those most at-risk by rescuing and redirecting perfectly good eats that would otherwise go to waste. Chef-owner Greg Reeves and crew have been big supporters over the years, hosting benefit brunches and dinners, and now they’re doing it again (even if it means getting a little creative).
This year, the fundraiser is a four-course take-home lunch menu (see below) for $40, with 50% of the proceeds going to the charity.
