On Thursday, May 20th, chef-owner Andy Husbands and his peoples are hosting two separate classes exploring spring wheated bourbon with their friends at Maker’s Mark and sharing the secrets to making the crispiest, crunchiest, juiciest fried chicken. Join Husbands at the Assembly Row location of The Smoke Shop for an in-person deep dive into the art of fried chicken – he’ll be sharing the techniques and tricks that go into their award-winning wings, fried chicken, Nashville Hot and Korean fried chicken. Your ticket, $100 each, covers the class, bourbon tasting and discussion, and a dinner featuring the different styles of fried chicken plus sides and little something sweet. Sweet Wheat: A Spring Wheated Bourbon Tasting With Maker’s Mark

Explore the world of spring wheated bourbon by way of this virtual cocktail demo, tasting and BBQ dinner. Husbands & Co. are welcoming special guest Jack Kavanagh from Maker’s Mark to get in on the informative Zoom sesh, which will include a hands-on cocktail demo (Peach-Basil Juleps!) before a guided tasting of a selection of Maker’s Mark Bourbons (The Smoke Shop’s Private Select!) with delicious BBQ and sides throughout. You can choose from two take-out ‘que packages – Pit Boss 1 (ribs, pulled chicken, cheddar jalapeño links, potato salad, pimento mac & cheese and cornbread) and Pit Boss 2 (brisket, pork belly burnt ends, turkey, potato salad, pimento mac & cheese and cornbread).
