Ramen Returns to Sweet Cheeks

Sweet Cheeks Website

The award-winning, barbecue-making team at Sweet Cheeks Q is making room for some Asian-inspired specials on Tuesday, April 2nd. Back again for another year, Ramen Night is the brainchild of chef-owner Tiffani Faison and Culinary Director Dan Raia, both of whom will be in the kitchen serving up smoked pork tonkatsu ramen for $15 — it’s a smoky broth base made with pork and chicken bones, bonito, kombu-dashi, dried mushrooms, sesame tae, and sun noodles. A bunch of goodies top the slurp-able dish like a 5-minute egg, soy glazed pork neck, scallions, kikurage mushrooms, charred Napa cabbage, and black garlic-chili oil (for those who crave even more heat, a housemade chili paste is served on the side).

Every table will start off with a complimentary order of shrimp chips, and you can pair your bowl with any number of apps like shishito peppers with lemon and sesame for $7, spicy-miso chicken wings with yuzo-kosho ranch for $8 and smoked char-siu pork buns for $5. Japanese beer fans, snag a Sapporo and Hitachino brew as your sipper for the meal, or pick from a slew of sake choices. Reservations are required (and this one-night-only special menu always draws a crowd), so make sure to book a spot soon by calling 617.266.1300 or heading here.
