Vineyard owner Susan Samson has decided on a switch for Sakonnet Vineyard’s upcoming Summer and Smoke festival. After eight very successful events featuring only seafood, it’s time to mix it up a little bit – Summer and Smoke will instead focus on the ultimate back yard summer accessory, the grill. A dozen or so chefs from New England and New York will be grilling up a storm on Sunday, June 29th at the Little Compton, Rhode Island vineyard. Some familiar faces include Brian Kingsford of Al Forno, Jasper White and Dave Parr of Jasper White’s Summer Shack, Jake Jacobs of Jake’s Boss BBQ and, from a bit further away, Emily Luchetti and Mark Franz of Farallon in San Francisco.
