Stone Soup Concord

Stone Soup Website

The Stone Soup Dinner happens Sunday, September 20th at Verrill Farm in Concord. Orchestrated by Concord Agricultural Committee member Jim Wayman, the dinner is based on the folk story of hungry strangers tricking townsfolk (but in a nice, see-what-happens-when-we-all-come-together way) into pooling ingredients for a “stone soup.” Wayman liked the idea of community gathering over locally-grown food – and he’s not alone; the dinner, now in its 8th year, has become a community staple. Farms, stores, and restaurants contribute to the meal, and proceeds from ticket sales go to helping young Concord farmers. Expect appearances from Bondir Concord, Saltbox Kitchen, Woods Hill Table and 80 Thoreau, among lots of others. Tickets for the collaborative dinner, which start at 4:00pm, are $50 and can be purchased at various retail outlets in Concord.
