On Sunday, September 30th, Cambridge is celebrating nine years of smoking together—ribs, that is. It’s time again for the Smoke This Rib Fest, a competition between some of the city’s best restaurants and pitmasters to find out who’s the boss hog with the best ribs in town. It’s a family affair, with live music by Monday Night Bluegrass, Eric Royer, Vapors of Morphine, and more while you get your fingers dirty sampling ribs, classic BBQ, and fall-menu specialties from a long list of Cambridge’s finest including Area 4, Puritan & Co., Loyal Nine, State Park, and Trina’s Starlite Lounge. A Taste Ticket is $27.50 and gets you rib samples from ten restaurants of your choice (first-come, first-served ’til they’re gone), or for $75 go for The Meateater, which gives you access to all of the ribs from all participating restaurants, plus a commemorative poster and a chance at some great prizes.
