Head south of the city to Northern Spy in Canton on Wednesday, May 17th for an Italian feast and a visit from Nick Mucci of Mucci Imports. Chef Marc Sheehan is putting the finishing touches on a four-course “Shells & Volcanoes” menu, which will be paired with some very special Italian wines from grapes grown either in ancient seabeds or living volcanos. Although Canton is thousands of miles from the nearest active volcano, Northern Spy is bringing the heat with their wood-fired hearth, so expect a lot of fire-roasted local shellfish and spring veggies.
Mucci has a deep knowledge of Italian wines thanks to living and working in Rome for several years, so bring your winemaking questions to dinner as he’ll be discussing Italy’s winemaking regions and specific terroirs with each pairing. Tickets are $125 per person and includes all your food and wine pairings, as well as gratuity. Dinner will be served family style at 6:00pm on communal tables, so bring your appetite and a sense of adventure. Grab a ticket here, and give the restaurant a call at 781.989.1850 if you have Qs.
