Shuck ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Here’s an event that’s easy to get in the mood for: the Battery Wharf Oyster Festival, scheduled for Sunday, September 21st. The oyster-filled afternoon in the sun, which runs from 2:00-5:00pm, includes cocktails and small plates out on the waterfront. Nine local oyster growers will be shucking ‘em as fast as you can eat ‘em while you enjoy dishes from top bivalve-savvy chefs like Michael Serpa of Neptune Oyster, Will Gilson of Puritan & Company, Graham Lockwood of Aragosta Bar & Bistro, Jeremy Sewall of Row 34 and Louis DiBiccari of Tavern Road. If that weren’t enough to get you excited, the event supports two good causes with proceeds donated to the Massachusetts Aquaculture Association and Island Creek Oysters Foundation. Tickets, available online here, cost $65 each and include food and two drink tickets. Grab one for yourself and an oyster-loving pal or two.
