The accolade-grabbing South End wine shop is teaming up with celebrated chef and Jeremy Sewall (who literally wrote the book on oysters) for an online oyster shucking tutorial and bubbly sesh on Wednesday, December 30th. Reserve you spot asap and plan on picking up your kit (no delivery for this one) after 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 29th but before 4:00pm on Wednesday, December 30th – you’ll want to leave yourself enough time to get home and all set up by the 5:00pm Zoom. Each $100 kit includes two dozen Island Creek oysters, an oyster knife, a half bottle of Ferrari Brut Rose, a half bottle of Deutz Brut Peninsula and login info for the educational-but-also-entertaining call. Not only will you learn the ins and outs of shucking an oyster but you’ll get the scoop on merroir and terroir (and you’ll get to eat some oyster and drink some bubbly).
