Roxbury Restaurant Week

Roxbury Main Streets

Be a part of the Roxbury Restaurant Week from Sunday, June 13th through Saturday, June 19th and support a slew of independent, locally-owned restaurants in and around Nubian Square. During the week-long event, you can have your fill from participating business, each of which will be offering special menus at breakfast, lunch and/or dinner.

Consult the Roxbury Main Streets’ website to see who’s signed on and what they’ll be serving. All the details are there including links for online ordering, hours, availability and menus so you can start mapping out your week of eats whether you want to order delivery, get take-out or sit down on-site to goodies like the potato babka breakfast sandwich at Haley House, jollof rice from Suya Joint, St. Louis spare ribs from Darryl’s Corner Bar & Kitchen and/or Soleil’s foot-long po boys (just to name a few must-haves).

Your support goes a long way. Restaurants are still feeling the reverberations from the pandemic (more than 110,000 restaurants have permanently closed their doors in the US). And this collaboration — spearheaded by Misha Thomas, General Manager of Haley House Bakery Cafe, in conjunction with Roxbury Main Streets — will direct some much-needed dining dollars to businesses in the neighborhood. It also coincides with Boston’s Black Restaurant Month, organized by the Black Hospitality Coalition and Black Restaurant Week.

The week will end with a collaborative nod to Juneteenth with Roxbury’s International Film Fest and BAMS Fest at the MFA’s premiere of Summer of Soul. Restaurants will be putting together boxes of snacks for attendees so be sure to pre-order The Rox Box through the Roxbury Main Streets’ website.

In addition to all the good food, there’s an extra bit of do-good-ing. The festivities include a raffle, with proceeds benefiting the Ujima’s Worker’s Care Relief Fund, a nonprofit creating a community-driven economy, with a focus on communities of color. Get your raffle tickets online here, and get all the information you need to help support the amazing Black-owned restaurants in Boston.
