The greatness of spooky season and the tastiness of donuts collide once again on Sunday, October 30th at The Banks Fish House for the 8th Annual Rise and Rumble throwdown, which pits the city’s best pastry chefs against each other for the ultimate donut bragging rights. You can get your tickets in advance for $40 each and just head to The Banks at 11:00am the day of to enjoy free coffee, a special treat, and donuts from each competitor. Once you’ve tried them all, it’ll be time to get to the serious business of voting for “best overall,” “best decorated,” “most unique,” and “most on theme” donuts. Judging ends at 1:00pm and the winners will be declared at 1:30pm.
Not only will you get to see the greats in action, like Tess Cunningham (Sarma), Chelsea Kantor (Mamaleh’s), Alyx Abreu (The Banks Fish House), Stacey Caissie (Grill 23), Tab Volpe (Bistro du Midi & Harvest), Jared Bacheller (The Barbara Lynch Collective), Kate Holowchik (Lionheart Confections) and Nick Venezia (The Barrelman) — they’ll also all be in costume! Dress up in solidarity (it’s Halloween weekend after all), or come as you are, and have a brunch cocktail or two at the cash bar as you taste your way through the lineup of sweet treats.
