Portsmouth’s Fish and Lobster Festival

Living near the ocean has some distinct advantages – not least of which is fresh, local and delicious seafood. On Saturday, September 25th enjoy the bounties of the North Atlantic, not to mention the fishermen who catch ‘em and the chefs that cook ‘em, when Prescott Park in New Hampshire presents the second annual Fish and Lobster Festival. Gather round from 12:00 to 4:00pm when some of Portsmouth’s most talented seacoast chefs cook up an assortment of briny goodies – watch out for lobster from Evan Mallet of Black Trumpet, freshly shucked oysters from Little Bay Oyster and cod from River House Restaurant, among lots of others. The free event will also feature tours of the docked fishing boats, cooking demos, cook off competitions, live music and maybe even a little storytelling. While admission is free, seafood tastings are $4 each. For more information, visit the Prescott Park website and plan a weekend spin up to Portsmouth.
