New Year’s Day at Boston Restaurants

Whether you’re a little worse for wear or fully refreshed and full of energy come January 1st, Boston’s top restaruants have whipped up some great menus that’ll get the new year off to a great start – see what they’ve got in store for New Year’s Day at spots like Aquitaine, Black Trumpet Bistro, Cafe Fleuri, Craigie on Main, Masa Southwest Bar & Grille, The Metropolitan Club, Pesce Blue, Red Rock Bistro, Sensing, Sherborn Inn, UpStairs on the Square and Vox Populi.

Aquitaine
Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed brunch goers will have to wait until 11:00am to get their first Aquitaine fix of 2010. Black Trumpet Bistro
Chef Evan Mallett has the cure for whatever ails you this New Year’s Day. The Black Trumpet Bistro chef-owner welcomes diners to his Ceres Street eatery in Portsmouth for a little hair of the dog and a special Hangover Supper menu, available from 4:00-9:00pm. Café Fleuri
Start your new year off right at Café Fleuri‘s Rejuvenation Brunch. There are more than one hundred items on chef Mark Sapienza’s elaborate buffet, including eye openers for revelers who didn’t make it to bed until the wee hours of the morning as well as resolution dishes for those want to get 2010 started on the right, healthy foot. The buffet includes full carving and dessert stations with your choice of a Bloody Mary or a non-alcoholic beverage. Craigie on Main
Chef Tony Maws gives his award winning brunch a New Year’s Day make-over adding some dishes designed (according to various customs, traditions, rules and regulations) to bring good luck in the year ahead. The menu at Craigie on Main has all the bases covered – greens for financial well-being, pork for progress and black beans for luck – so you can be sure 2010 will be a good year. Masa Southwest Bar & Grill

The Metropolitan Club
Chef Todd Winer’s New Year’s Day buffet brunch will be just the restorative meal you need to get 2010 off the its best start. From 11:30am until 3:00pm brunchers at The Metropolitan Club can munch on croissants, bagels, toast and assorted breakfast breads, made-to-order omelets, and fresh fruit, or head for the carving station or the Chinatown station which will be filled with egg rolls, dumplings, fried noodles and pork. Pesce Blue
Chef James Walter will be serving lunch and dinner at Portsmouth’s Pesce Blue this New Year’s Day, so you can start the year off on a delicious note.
