New England’s Finest

The folks at Fat Hen and La Brasa have added a chef-focused culinary series to the offerings at their East Somerville spot(s). Every Thursday, owner Daniel Bojorquez and chef Brian Miller will be welcoming a different cooker (it’s quite the roster!) to take over the kitchen for the evening, serving a prix fixe menu of snacks, mains, sides and desserts. You can reserve a spot in the spacious, socially-distant dining room at La Brasa between 6:00 and 9:00pm, or order your meal to-go and they’ll pack everything up for you to enjoy at home.

On Thursday, December 3rd chef Jake Rojas of Tallulah’s Taqueria in Providence RI, has been deemed one of the New England best chefs by Food & Wine. He is a chef you don’t want to miss. This week he is taking the stage, providing lots of big flavors and tasty dishes like the Lamb Barbacoa, made with guajillo and koji marinated lamb shoulder, roasted banana leaf, house made nixtamalized tortillas and topped with cilantro chimichurri. Place your to-go order online or reserve your seat through OpenTable (look for the Special Menus section – you might have to scroll down a bit). Seating is limited (and so are the number of take-out meals) so take a peek at the full menu below and book your table/take-out as soon as you see something you like.
