Mourvèdre Dinner at Forage

Red wine season is finally here and you can make up for lost time and dive right in on Tuesday, November 15th with a full-bodied Mourvèdre Dinner with your friends at Forage.

Mourvèdre (aka Monastrell) is a very structured and thick-skinned grape that ripens late and makes tannic wines that can be high in alcohol. Often blended with Grenache and Syrah (you may have heard of GSM blends), it is a major part of many Rhône blends, including Châteauneuf du Pape. Mourvèdre has the legs to stand on its own, however, and you can taste some examples from small, independent producers alongside some of chef Eric Cooper’s eclectic cuisine with pairings like Smoked Haddock (or Heiwa Tofu) with Boxty, carrots, thyme butter, and shallots with 2020 “GT” Partida Creus, Penedes, Spain.

Wine guru Stan Hilbert will be on hand to provide tasting notes and tips throughout your meal, which is $95 per person to dine in (reserve a spot here between 5:00 and 8:45pm) or $160 to take out for two people (order here).
