Take mollusk matters into your own hands at Mirbeau’s oyster excursions. On Monday, August 1st and again on Thursday, September 1st, you can forage for your own oysters with guidance from Plymouth Rock Oyster Growers and dine on the fruits of your labor. You’ll set sail from Mirbeau at 5:45pm, enjoying wine and snacks on your way to the oyster flats. The bites include petite Maine lobster tartin with avocado and cilantro sea salt, and plum-glazed Long Island duck BBQ, served with white and sparkling wines out on the waves. At the flats, you’ll receive an oyster primer and collect your bivalves before a beachfront dinner from chef Daniel Kenney. The seven-course menu features oysters – of course – fresh, grilled and in chowder, as well as Georges Bank sea scallops, sautéed mussels and tenderloin-lobster surf and turf.
