On Friday, October 13th, join the MFA for a night at the museum, featuring a live DJ, chef showdown, a moonlight beer garden, and a sneak peek at the museum’s new exhibition, Takashi Murakami: Lineage of Eccentrics. The first in a new seasonal series, which will make the whole place come alive, this edition of MFA Late Nites is inspired by the museum’s expansive collection of Japanese Art. Head to the Shapiro Courtyard to see (and vote on) five local chefs competing to make the best Japanese street food until midnight, then take a stroll in the Calderwood Courtyard for Japanese beer and pretzels under the stars. A Rap Slam by OompOutLoud will get your energy up, or you can recharge in the Taste Café with energy drinks and prepackaged Japanese snacks. Tickets are $13 ($20 at the door) and are required for entry. Food and drink are extra, though you can add the chef showdown option online here.
