Meet Montemelino’s Sabina Cantarelli at Field & Vine

Montemelino

Olmstead Wine Co. and SelectioNaturel, importers of small-production natural and traditionally-made Italian wines, are having a bit of a tasting blitz around the city on Wednesday, March 22nd, including an evening with Somerville’s Field & Vine. Grab a reservation ASAP and head to Union Square for a four-course dinner featuring wines from Montemelino, which will be paired up with some of chef Andrew Brady’s fabulous farm-to-table fare.

Montemelino is a family-owned estate located within Umbria’s tiny Colli del Trasimeno DOC. The Cantarelli family makes white wines with Grechetto, Malvasia and Trebbiano, and red wines with Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo and Gamay del Trasimeno (aka Grenache) using wild yeast fermentations. Sabina Cantarelli will be on hand during dinner to share all about how the wines are made on her family’s farm, and to talk you through each pairing. Dinner is $95 per person; seatings are at either 5:30 or 7:30pm — check out the menu below.

If you’re not a Somervillian, check out Olmstead’s Instagram for some of the other events happening that night, including an evening with Fortunato Sebastiano of Casa Brecceto at Dear Annie, and tastings at Bar Pallino and Rebel Rebel.
