Mangia Monday Guest Chefs

MIDA’s weekly all-you-can-eat pasta feast, Mangia Monday, is welcoming a whole host of chefly guests every Monday between now and spring. If you’re not familiar with how it works, here’s the deal (literally – it’s a deal): chef Douglass Williams rolls out an array of house-made pastas (usually five or six) for beginning-of-the-week diners at his South End restaurant. Guests can enjoy one pasta at a time (+ salad + bread) until they can’t eat any more – all for $35. Starting on Monday, February 5th, Williams and his team will be offering one of those pasta slots to a talented chef from around the way. First up: Michael Scelfo of Alden & Harlow and Waypoint, followed by Puritan & Co.’s Will Gilson on Monday, February 12th, and Tyler Sundet of Cafe du Pays, State Park and Mamaleh’s on Monday, March 12th. No word on what kind of pasta dish they’ll be bringing to the table on their respective evenings but you can rest easy, you’re in good hands. MIDA always saves some tables for walk-ins but you can call 617.936.3490 and book one (between 5:00 and 11:00pm) just to be safe. Keep an eye out for details about upcoming guest appearances.
