Lucy’s Hosts 2nd Annual Battle of the Chefs

On Monday, December 12th, Mizti Kaitz hosts the second Battle of the Chefs at Lucy’s in Brookline’s Coolidge Corner. Inspired by the Iron Chef, the evening’s festivities highlight the young heroes of the kitchen as they go head to head over five courses. Reigning champion Mike Boulos, of LoBollo is back to defend his title against Lucy’s own Andrew Coleman, Jared Hargraves of Harvard Gardens and Delio Susi of Amelia’s Trattoria. Here’s how it works: the day before the event, each chef will receive a bag of specific and unique ingredients as well as a course assignment. The challenge is to make a dish with the given ingredients, but here’s the hitch – it must also fall within Lucy’s concept – that means no butter and no cream. Diners will vote on which course they enjoyed most and the winning chef will be crowned king. The dinner, which starts at 7:00pm, costs $60 per person, not including tax, gratuity or beverages. A percentage of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to New England Village of Pembroke, a unique and vibrant community for adults with mental retardation and related developmental disabilities. For reservations or for more information call 617.232.5829.
