Cocktails & Community for Lovin’ Spoonfuls

Hotel Commonwealth Facebook

More than 40% of the food grown in the United States is wasted and if that really grinds your gears, then you’ll love what Lovin’ Spoonfuls is working towards. The local nonprofit rescues more than 65,000 pounds of surplus food (that’s healthy, fresh food that would’ve been thrown away — just in Boston!) and redistributes it to over 30,000 people at homeless shelters, crisis centers, food pantries, after-school programs, veterans service agencies and senior centers.

They’re minimizing food waste and helping alleviate hunger all in one go, and you can be part of their mission on Wednesday, June 26th at a Cocktails & Community event hosted at Hotel Commonwealth. Starting at 6:00pm, grab a cocktail by Tito’s Handmade Vodka (wine, beer and non-alcoholic sippers will also be available), snack on some passed apps and chat with other Bostonians who want to work towards bridging the gap between abundance and need. Tickets are $50 apiece and support Lovin’ Spoonfuls and all the awesome work they do — snag yours here.
