Passionate about minimizing food waste? Come meet fellow Bostonians who are just as enthusiastic about saving food and hunger relief on Tuesday, April 9th. Lovin’ Spoonfuls is a local food rescue organization that picks up perfectly good surplus food that would otherwise be thrown away (65,000 pounds weekly!) and distributes it those in need at places like homeless shelters, crisis centers, food pantries, after-school programs, veterans service agencies and senior centers. Each month, Lovin’ hosts a meet-up for friends of the nonprofit and new folks who may want to get involved. Head to BISq this time for small plates from chef Alex Saenz and craft cocktails — you can even order up a special sipper made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka to support the Lovin’ Spoonfuls Boston Marathon team. There’s no cost for coming by, but each person will just pay for what they eat and drink. See who else is going on Facebook.
