Let’s Talk About Food

Let's Talk About Food - Facebook

It’s time to talk about food—on Saturday, October 3rd discussions of all things gustatory take over Copley Square. The fourth annual Let’s Talk About Food Festival features chefs sharing expertise on all things eating: chef Jason Bond will give some love to lamb with a braised lamb shoulder demonstration and all-around lamb education while chef Tiffani Faison will cover butchery and getting the most of less expensive cuts. Pastry chef Brian Mercury will talk sweets (and sweet alternatives) with James Beard Award winner Marion Nestle while Legal Seafood’s Roger Berkowitz showcases seafood with a live demo. Chef Jose Duarte will handle the veggie side of things with tips on making the harvest last through the winter. There’ll be pasta-making and fermentation demonstrations, plus chefs Jody Adams, Eric Brennan and Andy Husbands will bring school food reform to the table (or tray) with a cafeteria- and kid-friendly cook-off—judged by Boston Public School students, of course. The free event has something of interest for every palate with seminars running from 10:30am to 5:00pm, plus open discussion at the Endless Table and food-focused stories at the Kitchen Conversations recording booth.
