Learn How to Filet a Fish at Catch

Those beautiful whole fish you bring home (from the fishing trip or a trip to the fish market) are oh so tempting – until you realize you‘ve no idea how to break them down. No worries – it’s Chris Parsons to the rescue. The chef-owner of Catch in Winchester is offering a special Filet-a-Fish course so you can learn how to handle whole flounder, black bass and bluefish. Parsons, who has built a successful restaurant around his acumen with seafood, will show students not just how to go about fileting these popular summer fish but also the best knife to use and the proper way to sharpen it. Lest you fear going away hungry, Parsons will also be serving up some delicious tastings and wines, which will make it quite the event. The fun starts at 11:30am on Saturday, July 18th and costs $40 per person. Reservations are required, so make sure you have one by calling 781.729.1040.
