Lamb & Locale

The word ‘local’ gets thrown around restaurants so much you’d think it’s easy, but the amount of time and dedication that goes into the produce, meat, and drinks before they make it to the menu often gets overlooked. In an effort to celebrate the enormous talents and hard work of local farmers and makers, Notch Brewing, Ledger Restaurant, and North Star Sheep Farm are teaming up for a weekend dedicated to Salem’s local food and beverage heroes. On Friday, May 4th, Ledger is hosting a five-course lamb dinner at 7:00pm that will take you on a trip from pasture to palate (with a stop at the brewery in between).

Notch brewed special beers just for the occasion will be paired with each course, and while you dine you’ll be treated to an explanation of the process behind each plate. On Saturday the 5th, the whole crew is heading down the road to Notch to celebrate the brewery’s 8th anniversary from noon to 3:00pm with even more meat, but this time the pairing is simple: spit-roasted lamb and Notch lager. Tickets for Friday’s feast are $95, Saturday is $25, and you’ll get a $10 discount if you sign up for the whole weekend’s shenanigans. Get more info and snag your spot here.
