Labor Day Eats

Labor Day is always a little bitter sweet – three day weekend glee gets tempered by back-to-school bummed-outedness. Lucky for you – you can eat your end-of-summer feelings at special brunches, lunches, a luau and even a couple patio pig roasts. Buck up and get brunching (or lunching) for Labor Day.

Brunch on Newbury Street at Met Back Bay (from 9:00am-3:00pm).

South End faves from the Aquitaine Group, including Metropolis Café, Gaslight and Aquitaine, will all be open for brunch (10:00:00am-3:00pm), as will The Beehive (11:00am-3:00pm). If you’re in the mood for Southwestern fare and maybe a midday margarita or two (it’s a holiday!), head for Masa where they’ll be serving all their regular Sunday goodies to Monday diners (10:00am-3:00pm).

You can snag lunch on the water at Pier 6 in Charlestown (11:00am-3:00pm) or its sister restaurant across the harbor in East Boston, Reelhouse, which will also be serving lunch (11:00am-3:00pm).

Or swing by Coppersmith in Southie for a little something from the café (7:00am-4:00pm) or post up on either of their decks between 11:00 and 1:00am.

The Merchant will be rolling out its weekends-only menu on Monday so swing through Downtown Crossing to enjoy all your brunchy favorites (11:00am and 4:00pm).
