Every month co-Executive Chefs Kevin O’Donnell and Michael Lombardi invite one of their local culinary friends to take the reins in the kitchen and craft a variety of inspired cicchetti (Italian small bites) of their own choosing. On Wednesday, November 7th, the guys will welcome chef Karen Akunowicz of Top Chef fame to do her thing for the evening. Akunowicz’ neighborhood enoteca in Southie, Fox & the Knife, is set to start taking guests later this fall, so if you’re curious what the fox herself might be serving at the soon-to-be-open spot, get yourself to the South End between 5:30 and 7:30pm for a sneak peek. The details on what’s being served are secret, but there may be some Asian influence — Akunowicz was previously the Executive Chef at Myers + Chang — or a possible Italian angle, if her forthcoming restaurant is any indication.
