Jewish Christmas in July

Mamaleh's Instagram

Mamaleh’s Delicatessen, the crave-worthy bagel and reuben joint in Kendall Square (soon to be in Brookline, too), hosts a delicious midsummer mash-up with their upcoming Jewish Christmas in July. Celebrating the Jewish holiday tradition of getting Chinese food on Christmas Day, the Mamaleh’s peeps have teamed up with their friends and neighbors at Bess’s Cafe, Dumpling Daughter, Mei Mei and Sumiao Hunan to create a fusion menu that pulls from both culinary cultures in dishes like Matzah Ball Wonton Soup, Reuben Egg Rolls and Blueberry Dessert Dumplings.

Take a peek at all the offerings online here and place your order for pickup or delivery on Saturday, July 24th or Sunday, July 25th (or both, if you are so inclined). All the eats—everything from brisket bao to poppy seed fortune cookies—is made to travel well and reheat easily so you can have a fuss-free Jewish Christmas this weekend — ’cause who said you have to wait ‘till December? No rules here!

Keep an eye on their Instagram page for all the updates (and for a bit of background on how these two cultures became linked around the holiday).
