JerkFest 2014

Things are sure to get hot and spicy at the second annual Boston JerkFest this Saturday, June 28th. Inspired by the flavors of the West Indies, this family-friendly event features authentic Caribbean cuisine, live music, international food vendors and, of course, rum cocktails. Many of the city’s top restaurants will be on hand selling their favorite jerk dishes, showcasing the versatility of the quintessential Caribbean marinade. For the 21+ crowd, there’s a Rum and Brew Tasting complete with a steady supply of local craft beers and cocktail demonstrations from folks like Savvor bar manager Courtney McCall, among others. Get all the details on the Boston JerkFest website or go right ahead and purchase your tickets ($45 for the rum and brew tasting; $12 for the festival; and $5 for the 5-12 year old crowd) for either of two sessions (11:00am-3:00pm or 4:00-8:00pm) and spend the afternoon or evening getting all irie at the Benjamin Franklin Institute (41 Berkeley St, Boston).
