Kenmore Square will get crazy for the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 4th, thanks to the afternoon shindig hosted by the peeps at Island Creek Oyster Bar. Come by beginning at 3:30pm for Southern-inspired snacks like Buttermilk Biscuit Slider Sandwiches stuffed with bourbon BBQ short rib, Derby Deviled Eggs and Blue Grit Fries from chef Nicki Hobson. She’ll even be cooking up Kentucky Hot Brown, which is an open faced turkey sammie topped with bacon and Mornay sauce. Snag yourself a Mint Julep at the bar or sip on a Whiskey Smashes with Smooth Ambler Spirits Bourbon to wash it all down. Food & drinks will be served through 6:30pm — although it’s first come, first served — after that, make sure your eyes are glued to the TV so you don’t miss a minute of the action.
