Guest Chefs Get to Whaling

The peeps at Whaling in Oklahoma are proud of their new custom charcoal grill, and chef-owner Tim Maslow has invited some friends to come try it out. Every other Monday, get to the South End to check out their Meat & Three series, where guest New England chefs will prepare a custom menu from a region that speaks to them over Whaling’s barbecue. They’re kicking it off on Monday, April 1st, with their very own Sous Chef Yesid Areiza, who’ll take diners on a smoky, charred tour of his heritage with Colombian picnic food like grilled stuffed quail, whole trout roasted in banana leaves, and smoky beef tenderloin charred over an open flame. Special Guest Moe Isaza of Santa Teresa 1796 Rum is keeping the theme alive on the beverage side, with a special cocktail list featuring flavors from his own Colombian heritage. It’s $30 for a seat at the table ($32.04 with service fees) which includes a meat and three side dishes. Appetizers, desserts, and beverages will be available a la carte. See some of the cookers they’ve scheduled so far and scoop up your tickets online here.
