In-person events are back, baby, and the crew from Lovin’ Spoonfuls is ready to cut loose with the return of the Ultimate Tailgate Party at The Charles River Speedway in Brighton on Sunday, October 16th. Tickets go on sale September 6th for the extravaganza, which features all-you-can-enjoy tailgate-inspired bites and Tito’s vodka drinks from several of Boston’s best chefs and restaurants including Douglass Williams (MIDA, APIZZA), Karen Akunowicz (Fox & the Knife, Bar Volpe), Jamie Bissonnette (Faccia a Faccia, Bar Pallino, Little Donkey, Toro, Coppa), Joanne Chang (Myers + Chang, Flour Bakery + Cafe), and Will Gilson (Puritan & Co., Café Beatrice, The Lexington, Geppetto) — check out a full list of participating chefs with bios here. Comedian and storyteller Bethany Van Delft will emcee the festivities, which includes a silent auction, the signature Grocery Bag Wall, and lots of info about how Lovin’ Spoonfuls supplies more than 185 nonprofits with their innovative food rescue and hunger relief efforts.
The party runs from 5:00 to 9:00pm at the Speedway’s Garage B — the loveliest renovated 1940s “garage” in the city, featuring floor-to-ceiling roll-up windows and a tented patio area. Tickets are $150 for general admission — grab them here when they go live (they will sell out!). VIP tickets ($300) are currently sold out, but you can contact LS to get on the waitlist. VIP hour goes from 5:00-6:00pm followed by general admission. Proceeds go to support the important work that Lovin’ Spoonfuls does to fight food insecurity in our region, but if you can’t make it to the party you can still contribute to the cause here.
